Our Beliefs
We are one of many congregations who believe it is possible to practice first century New Testament Christianity today. In order for this to be a reality, we are committed "to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent." The Bible teaches from the beginning to end not to add to or take away what is written in it (Deut. 4:2, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18-19). We must be the same in NAME, ORGANIZATION, WORSHIP, DOCTRINE and LIFESTYLE as was the first century church. We take serious the Apostolic exhortation, found in Colossians 3:17 " And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Our Worship Services...are conducted as they were in the New Testament Churches
Lord's Supper / Communion
We partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday to remind us of the sacrifice on the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ and His eventual return (1 Corinthians 11:22-33; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 10:14-16). This memorial was instituted by Jesus during the night of his betrayal (Matt. 26:26-29). During the communion baptized (immersed) Believers eat unleavened bread (symbolizing Jesus' body) and drink fruit of the vine/grape juice (symbolizing Jesus' blood).
Singing
We encourage everyone to participate in our singing as we lift our voices in songs of praise without the aid of musical instruments - a cappella music (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 13:15). Song books are located in the racks of the pews (bench seats) and during a.m. services songs with music and shaped notes are projected on a large screen.
Preaching
Our evangelists instruct us in the word of God as found only in the Bible (2 Timothy 4:2). They are committed to faithfully teaching, "word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified." (Acts 20:32 ) Expect to hear a practical, relevant sermon rooted in Scripture each and every week.
Prayer
We petition God in prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Several men in the congregation will be called upon to lead prayers during the service (1 Timothy 2:8). Through the ministry of prayer we are able to praise, honor, petition and give thanks to God (Philippians 4:6)
Giving / Collection
We give of our financial means to maintain or support the work of the Lord's church in this community and beyond. Each member is expected on the first day of the week to give according as they have prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-2), never forgetting that "God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7).
